Dr. Serrano performs St. Joseph’s 1000th Robotic Surgery

Serrano with Team Best

Congratulations to Dr. Evelyn Serrano MD, who recently completed the 1000th robotic surgery at St. Jospeh’s Woman’s Hospital in Tampa. Dr. Serrano and her talented team use the latest robotic technology to perform minimally invasive surgery.  Robotic surgery results in many benefits to the patient including less post-surgical pain, lower probability of infection and shorter recovery time.  Recovery time for hysterectomies performed via robotic surgery is usually just two-to-four weeks, as opposed to a six-to-eight weeks for a standard procedure. Some patients are able to leave the hospital the day after their procedure is performed. Dr. Serrano was among the first gynecological surgeons credentialed to perform robotic surgery at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, which began offering this service in 2012.

If you have questions about robotic surgery or concerns about your personal healthcare program, don’t hesitate to contact Dr. Serrano and the team at The Woman’s Group of Tampa for all of your healthcare needs.
