What first drew you to the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology?
Obstetrics is a polarizing field—you either love it or vow to avoid it at all costs. But what I fell in love with is the variety in our work; the changes according to the needs of women at different stages in life.

What do you enjoy most about being part of The Woman’s Group?
I love having the continuity of seeing patients year to year and now even over two decades for many. I also love the mentorship of new doctors and the camaraderie of having a talented, loyal, brilliant and supportive staff and physician group to grow with.

What is an important value that you hold close to your heart as a physician in your day-to-day life?
I consistently remind myself that I am privileged to partake in very important and intimate moments in a woman’s life. With this in mind, I value the experience of the patient and the sense that she benefited from each encounter with our group.

What is one of the most fulfilling parts of your role in the women’s healthcare field?
The fulfillment of obstetrics is obvious and we are very appreciated and remembered for many years. What is less clear to an onlooker is how rewarding it is to be able to perform surgery that is life changing or life saving. Being able to offer definitive solutions is fulfilling and satisfying on multiple levels.

What’s your favorite way to de-stress?
Travel is an indulgent pleasure and I take frequent trips to see my parents and sisters in NY to de-stress. Supporting my kids in their athletic endeavors is probably my favorite weekend activity. I’m not sure that de-stresses me but I wind down with reading, exercise, and time with family.

What’s your favorite TV show or movie?
My family mocks me for being too distracted to enjoy television. I occasionally get roped into a series like The Crown, The Office, or Ted Lasso. Then I’m hooked.

What’s your favorite part about living in Tampa?
Again, variety is the spice of life! Tampa marries my love of city life and outdoor activities. The beach restores the soul but I also love the diverse restaurants, sporting events, shows, and family friendly events that have made it fun to raise children here.
