Pain Management

Helping you manage procedural discomfort

Discomfort and pain can cause additional, unwelcome stress and anxiety during some common gynecological exams and in-office procedures.

As we strive to continually provide a safe and relaxing environment for our patients, Nitrous Oxide is now available at The Woman’s Group to help manage discomfort during certain procedures, optionally.

Nitrous Oxide is a proven, safe and effective option to manage short-term discomfort. Patients choosing Nitrous Oxide will notice a slightly sweet-smell and taste as they fall into a more relaxed state, but not asleep. A slight euphoria is the usual side-effect which wears off rapidly once the procedure is complete. Patients may drive shortly after administration.

Some examples of gynecological procedures during which Nitrous Oxide may be available are Colposcopies, IUD Insertions, Vulvar Biopsies, Endometrial Biopsies, and Nexplanon Placements.

For further reading on the safety profile and commonality of use of Nitrous Oxide, please refer to this Cleveland Clinic Nitrous Oxide article link.

For patients interested in utilizing Nitrous Oxide, please request it when making your appointment online or contact us beforehand to ensure we have it available for your appointment type, date and time. Same day requests may be accommodated, based on availability.
